It doesn't: Xanax (alprazolam) is really just a "band-aid" to help you deal with the symptoms from the labyrinthitis but it has no effect on inflammation. There are a number of natural herbs/vitamins that can help with inflammation and symptoms, so speak to your doctor. Consider vitamin c, magnesium, ginger, zinc, etc.
