I saw a surgeon for the 7 neck nodes. he ordered 4 biopsy's and ct of neck, chest, abdomen & pelvis and tons of bloodwork. is this a "normal" reaction?

Probably...: The surgeon has the benefit of taking your history and examining you and possibly the results of the biopsies which would justify the seeming "extensive" evaluation. I would not doubt this or attempt to second-guess. Be thankful your surgeon appears to be thorough.
