Go past science: Throw yourself into the gym lifestyle. There is no limit to the benefit you can derive from aerobic training. In fact, you would be doing yourself a huge favor, after you are trimmed enough to make it manageable for your joints, to join a distance running club. You'll amaze your friends. You'll also do resistance work; maximum benefit is from 3 sets 10 reps a few times a week. Aerobic -- no limit.

Aerobic: Start @ the gym slowly w/ 3 twenty minute work-out sessions this upcoming week if u haven't been doing anything aerobic before. This could include jogging or fast walking, exercise bike, elliptical or stair master . Try to get your heart rate up to safe level for u( check w/ your med. Dr first)... Over the next month gradually increase the # of sessions per wk(5) and duration to 30-35 min.
