A member asked:

Use travatan for glaucoma w/40% reduction in pressure, but afraid of eye color change. dr said slt would lower pressure the same amount. right?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

probably: Travatan and other drugs in is class can darken an eye that has some brown in the iris to begin with (hazel). Not a true blue eye and a dark brown eye is too dark to notice. Slt can have the effect of that medication in lowering the internal eye pressure although the effect is variable and may not be long lasting. There are other anti-glaucoma medications available however.
