Osteomyelitis: This infection of the maxillary bone will best be managed by an oral surgeon, hopefully in collaboration with an infectious diseases expert. The most common organism is actinomyces species, but any of the oral/periodontal flora may be involved. As in most forms of osteomyelitis a combination of surgical debridement combined with long tern antibiotic will be necessary. Good luck.
