Antibiotics/ Surgery: Bone infections are difficult to treat. Antibiotics are used to try to clear the infection. If this is not successful, surgery may be needed to remove the infected portion of bone.

Antibiotics/surgery: A bone biopsy can be performed of the probable infected bone to determine the exact bacteria. You can then be treated with IV antibiotics to cover the bacteria for 6-8 weeks and/or revision of the below amputation.....Possibly conversion to above knee amputation.
