: No. Colchicine has the potential to cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but it does so by mechanisms other than "stomach irritation". So esomeprazole may not make a difference. This effect of colchicine is dose dependent, so if your physician-prescribed dose is making you feel poorly, then talk with your physician about a new dose or a different medication.

No: Treatment for acute onset of gout in adult  is 1.2 mg ( 2 tab) to start and then repeat .6 mg (1tab)1 hour later if necessary. So maximum daily dose in adult in 1.8 mg. The tab size is 0.6 mg .  For gout prophylaxis daliy dose limit is 1.2 mg  I  hope that helps.

Colchicine  in FMF: Might be.. Best bet is to discuss this with your prescribing physician and, perhaps a re-evaluation  is in order, especially if it has been a while.
