If someone with trichomoniasis is allergic to these medications, one recommendation is for that person to undergo Desensitization Therapy by an Allergist, so that he/she can be treated safely with one of these two antibiotics.

? Chemical cystitis: also causes urgency and frequency and burning and is thought to be a sensitivity to chemicals such as dyes instead of infection.  Drink a lot of water until the urine is very light, avoid foods with colored dyes, and urinate at least every 2-3 hours for several days.  If you have persistent symptoms, consult with a urologist.

May not work.: That is not the usual treatment for Trichomoniasis.  It probably will not work.  That is a common treatment for other STD'd including chlamydia.

: Trichomoniasis is a common sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. In women, trichomoniasis can cause a foul-smelling vaginal discharge, genital itching and painful urination. Treatment for trichomoniasis is taking an antibiotic — either metronidazole (Flagyl), tinidazole  or secnidazole.

Not that we know of!: Urethritis is often causes by chemical irritation or friction. The urethra is so close to the vagina that it can be injured easily. Also,  If urine is very concentrated from not drinking enough fluids, it can cause irritation to the bladder and urethra.   Drinking fluids until the urine is very light is helpful, as well as sitting in a warm bath without soap.

Trichomonas ?: One problem with trichomonas infections is that if your partner was not treated, or has other sexual partners, it is very easy to return as a "re-infection".  Metronidazole is the treatment of choice, but unless your symptoms are secondary to other kinds of bacterial or fungal sources , trichomonas can only be eradicated if all concerned are treated.

Hard to say: The treatment you cite is not just for trich. You were given a shotgun treatment for STD's that could include gonorrhea, chlamydia &amp; others. These could also cause pelvic inflammatory disease and need more intense treatment.You should go back in for re-evaluation if you are not improving.

Not effectively: Trichomonas vaginalis is treated with flagyl/metronidazole or tinidazole.  Amoxicillin is not effective.

Trichomonas: Trichomonas is best treated with Flagyl, in varying dose schedules.  Having unprotected sex with more than one partner can create a "new infection" , since all partners of an individual (male or female) have trichomonas in general if one of the partners ( or their "other" partners) have it.  All contacts should be treated simultaneously for effective eradication of the infection.
