Need More Info: I'm going to assume you're using this drug as an ICS (inhaled) for asthma or copd; forgive me if i'm mistaken. Other than the mild risk of an elevated blood sugar, the risk of not taking your rx is that your breathing symptoms may worsen. So, speak with your dentist for the final word!

Pain Meds: Narcotic pain meds can make you nauseous. Take half a pill if you must, or try taking only a NSAID.

Check first: You should always check with your particular surgeon before taking anything. With that being said it would not be a "pain pill"  that you would want to take but a tranquilizer or anti-anxiety medication such as valium.

No: 1000mg is the best dosage than 500mg every 6 hours if pain is tolerable. If pain more severe than seek a stronger medication and possible an antibiotic all depending on your health. Keep area clean and rinse with peroxide and water 2/4 times a day.😀

oral surgery under local anesthetic, prescribed dolobid but no pain relief acheived. what else can she take to help with the dolobid. ?

Add acetaminophen: if she doesn't have any allergies to tylenol, then she can add tylenol for additional pain relief.  Also icing the sore area 20 minutes at a time will help reduce swelling and pain also.  Dolobid is an NSAID so never take another NSAID with it (ibuprofen, aleve etc). Turmeric capsules can also help relieve pain and can be safely added to Dolobid.  See dentist if pain worsens (or at least call)

i have been prescribed valium 5 mg, just 1 the night before oral surgery and 1 the day of. i also take zanax 1mg and trazadone 100 mg at night for sleep. can i take both? only have two valliums and take zanax and trazadone every night?

: Every drug you describe causes drowsiness, sedation, and potential dizziness.  Together all three could result in apnea while asleep and in your age group, would advise NOT taking the Xanax and Trazadone together and certainly not adding the Valium.   You need to discuss all of this with your primary care doctor ASAP.

Absolutely: Every dentist has a different level of expertise, and if your current dentist feels s/he can treat you, then the choice is yours. I personally extract many wisdom teeth, but i also refer many out to local specialists when i feel the potential complications surpass my experience.

Call surgeon: I do not know what medications your surgeon will be administering, so to advise you one way or another would not be prudent. Please call your surgeon and get his/her ok as to what meds you can take the night before.
