What pain pill can i take before oral surgery that'll help me relax, but won't cause any negative interactions?

Check first: You should always check with your particular surgeon before taking anything. With that being said it would not be a "pain pill" that you would want to take but a tranquilizer or anti-anxiety medication such as valium.

Benzodiazepines: Benzodiazepines are a class of medications that are often prescribed for anxiolysis. They include drugs like valium, halcion, xanax, (alprazolam) etc. They are safe for short term use. You must not drive to your appointment if these are prescribed. Speak to your dentist or surgeon if this is something you think will help you.

It depends: Patients ask me this all the time! there are sedatives and pain pills. Generally we advise a sedative prior to treatment, and a pain pill after treatment, but before the anesthesia wears off. Your medical history and current medications must be reviewed to determine the potential for negative medication interactions regardless of which type of pill you take!
