good morning . my first fasting blood glucose level is 6.1 . i was told i am prediabetic . however , within one week , i retake . my fasting glucose is 3.5. h1bac is 5.1. and oral glucose is 7.3. am i still consider prediabetic or impaired fasting?

Sugar levels : I am not sure of the units and tests you are mentioning.  Hemoglobin A1c more than 5.6 and less than 6.4 is prediabetes. Fasting glucose more than  (100  mg/dL or 5.5  mmol/L ) and less than (126 mg/dL or 7.0 mmol/L) is prediabetes. .
An A1c more than 6.4 , or fasting glucose more than 126 mg/dL or 7.0 mmo/L is diabetes. Use the units and ask your question again

Question 2

low carb/low sugar diet for many years. very fit, active& not overweight. 2 consecutive morning blood tests showed mildly elevated fasting glucose (101 & 102), but non-fasted glucose is lower somehow & a1c is great (4.4%). concerning for prediabetes?

: This does not appear to be diabetes, especially given your hemoglobin A1C, which tells you your overall blood sugar control over the past 3 months. If you want to monitor this, you could have the hemoglobin A1C repeated in 3-4 months to see what the trend is. If you continue with your healthy lifestyle, this likely will not be a problem. avg. blood sugar:fasting 110,1hr post meal 156 (max 235),2hr post meal 120 (max 196). how much of a problem? i'm 152lbs.i eat 150g carb/45g sugar/day.

Diabetes?: Generally any number over 200 can be indicative of diabetes so I would see my doctor and anticipate a lab order to check a hemoglobin a1c to evaluate for diabetes.

my 10 year old son blood sugar fasting is 91 mg/dl. as the range is upto 100 mg/dl, it appears that his value is on the higher side.what could be done?

Blood Sugars: There is no reason to be testing a child without diabetes. Normal blood sugars actually go up to 195 mg/dl depending on when one has eaten.  Your child is normal.

Can be Health...: In general people check for what they are concerned about. The Glucose in the urine is suggestive of Diabetes Mellitus (DM type2) but the Blood Sugar of 108 imply normal sugar. One does not indicate if there is a history of Diabetes or not. Because the implication of sugar in the urine can be Health Threatening, it is best to see the PCP for Full Medical History /Physical and appropriate Lab tests

Can't say for sure!: Rigid adherence to a low carb lifestyle would directly improve your situation, but the weight loss which would occur would benefit you as well. Exercise as well! i would still put you on metformin for better glycemic control. It will also help weight and cholesterol, while lowering a1c!

Assuming the free T4 is normal and TSH is 9.5 and the fasting sugar is 155 (diabetic range), most experts would agree that treatment with thryroid replacement therapy be initiated. Autoimmune thyroiditis may lead to permanent under production of thyroid hormone.

Don't worry: Your blood glucose results are in the normal range. To maintain good health, exercise about 30 minutes/day, 5 days/week, have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, legumes, lentils, beans, small amounts of lean meats, low fat milk products, limit saturated fats, no tobacco and no more than one alcoholic drink a day.
