18 month old: If you are seeing something in his/her mouth, by all means take him/her in. It might be tough to look in there but it can be done. You do not want to ignore things. Always ask your dentist to make sure what is the best thing.

Not brushing: Parents must ensure to brush their children's teeth until the age of eight or nine.  Milk and juices all contain a lot of sugar.  So do breads and most foods.  This sugar feeds the bacteria on your child's teeth resulting in tooth decay.  Do not let you baby fall asleep with a bottle in her mouth.  Brush your child's teeth after feeding.

dentist prescribed flouride to 13 month old and the box specifically says not to give it to them. who do i listen to?

Confusing question: If you live in a location where the water supply has low or no fluoride, supplemental Fluoride is often prescribed. The dentist should be aware of these issues and prescribe accordingly. Many boxed supplements warn you not to use them without proper supervision (doc or dentist).Call to clarify if concerned.

The primary teeth may be malpositioned, and your child may not have as many erupted teeth as other children, but your dentist can neither straighten them out or make the others erupt any faster. Keep the few teeth that have erupted clean, and give the remainder some time to erupt.

Coincidence ?: Probably. Was the front tooth infected? Extractions and dental anesthetics do not cause fevers. Discuss your concerns with her dentist and pediatrician.

Second opinion: If you were not impressed with the time or treatment given to your child, seek a second opinion.  Babies teeth need to be cleaned regularly, especially before sleep, whether they drink cow's milk, breast milk, or juice.

Contact dentist: I doubt the ER would do anything more than contact a dentist, which you can do. A discussion with them can help decide when &amp; where to go for services. They will likely try to save the teeth.

Why: Some kids have no teeth until 15 months. Eventually they get a full set of 20 by 3. A dental visit is a good idea in general, but this is not a particular reason to.

Not specifically: Kids first teeth can be present at birth or not until 15 months and still be perfectly normal.The average kid erupts by 6m & averages a tooth a month for a while.Late eruptors often get 2 or more at a time.Late eruption patterns are not an indicator of poor health or dietary deficiency. I think a dental visit at a year or later is fine for all kids & allows you to discuss related care.
