The primary teeth may be malpositioned, and your child may not have as many erupted teeth as other children, but your dentist can neither straighten them out or make the others erupt any faster. Not enough info: Not unusual for baby teeth to erupt somewhat rotated. Lip/tongue pressure usually aligns them. If not enough room, however, teeth may remain crooked. Glad you are making dentist appt now. Important that your child be seen. Talk to your dentist about hygiene, diet, fluorides, and normal growth and development. Remember to schedule 1st orthodontic examination at age 7. Enjoy your child!

Not typical: It seems that you child is somewhat on the late side for baby teeth to erupt. However, the range in development is quite wide and probably nothing to be concerned about. It would be a good time to have your child looked at by a pedodontist who can not only discuss this issue with you, but also advise you regarding what to do to have your child have a health mouth for the rest of his\her life.
