Not specifically: Kids first teeth can be present at birth or not until 15 months and still be perfectly normal. The average kid erupts by 6m & averages a tooth a month for a while.Late eruptors often get 2 or more at a time.Late eruption patterns are not an indicator of poor health or dietary deficiency. I think a dental visit at a year or later is fine for all kids & allows you to discuss related care.

Not yet: What will your dentist do? They can't make the baby's teeth come in any faster. Every child has a different eruption pattern. Wait a while longer and see how things progress.

Wait: Wait and don't worry! nothing will be done at that age. No adult teeth erupt until 6 years of age.

Absolutely: Children who see pediatric dental specialist at age 1 have 40% less dental expenses by age 5 than children who wait 'till 2-3 to see a gp. You need a pedodontist instead of a gp for the same reasons you need a pediatrician instead of a gp. American dental assn & american academy of pediatric dentistry recommend 1st dental appt age 1, 1st orthodontic appt age 7. Please go now. You'll be glad.
