Numbness: With your history of high blood pressure numbness on one side of body, imbalance, change in hearing you need to see a neurologist or your pcp who might order some imaging to look for stroke, mass or other problem. Also some bloodwork to check for hormonal/inflammatory/metabolic causes. Go get checked.

ear ringing and head aches 24/7 since ear irrigation last week. family doctor looked in my ear and said it looked fine. is this normal?

Not normal: If examination of the ear drum revealed no perforation of the drum, that would be somewhat reassuring that no major complication occurred from the irrigation. However if the irrigation was directed directly at the drum instead of at an angle, perhaps enough trauma was caused and resulted in the symptoms. If they persist, I urge a consultation from an Otolaryngologist for evaluation and advice.

i have had an earache in my ear for a while now. it is not painful, just a constant dull, warm feeling. i also havestiffness in my neck and shoulder. what could it be?

OTALGIA: Neck stiffness can be associated with ear infection. Why don't you check it out?  Otherwise take analgesic or nsaids.

Sounds right!: Tinnitus = spontaneous noise (or any auditory perception) for which no external stimulus (sound pressure waves) exists. It can last seconds or decades. It can rumble, chirp, whistle, pop, grind. Many, many causes for this condition, the vast majority of which are not serious.

had sudden hearingloss in right ear overnight.had decadron injections.it is 7 days since prosedure. there is no improvement.the problem now is i have a constant tinnitus hissing in my ear after injection.will it ever go away ?.it is 24 7 noise.

To tinnitus: In hearing loss cases due to trauma of extremely loud noise the development of tinnitus can be the first sign that hearing is returning. Therefore, hang in there and keep hoping. Of course your Otolaryngologist is better qualified than I to answer your question.

Yes: Tinnitus has been reported in alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal, and can be seen in opioid withdrawal as well.  Get help for your alcohol problem.

i have bad tmj - painful jaws. got a splint to wear at night. it has helped somewhat. i also developed tinnitus in my ear i am thinking from tmj. what would be my next step in dealing with this?

: Regarding TMJ, splint may help but will take a long time.  Consider a second opinion from oral surgeon.  The tinnitus would not be caused from jaw issues, and therefore, an otolaryngologist should be consulted.

good evening doctors. once in a while i get a noise in my ear like the sound that is made by a childs squeeze toy....the noise is very intermittent and is in only one ear (right ear)...is the fact that it is in only one ear serious? is this tinnitus?

Tinnitis : Tinnitis can have varying pitches and typically points to an inner ear problem that isn't related to wax in your ear (which can cause a conductive hearing loss). The best way to initially assess this is with an audiogram that your ENT can perform.
