had dental cleaning 1 week ago. gums became puffy/swollen and sore after cleaning and small little sores developed after cleaning. what could this be?

Tender Gums Post Tx: Good day; 
  Most likely you experienced an allergic reaction to materials/ chemicals used during prophylaxis. Possible harshness of stain removal (prophy jet) or reaction  to irrigating solutions. If you are not improving on a daily basis contact DDS/ Hygienist  who performed cleaning.

WNL: It is within normal limits.. It depends on how inflamed your gums were before the cleaning, and how much calculus you had built up. The hygienist does his/her best to get your teeth spotless, and that sometimes leaves them a bit beat up. I'm sure you will be just fine in a few days.

i had a dental cleaning at the dentist 5 days ago and i still have pain in my gum when brushing and under one teeth i have this red painful bruise in my gum not swollen but looks like irittation ,what can it be?

: I'it's most likely an area of gum injury, or irritation/inflammation but it doesn't appear to be an infection.  Rinse on &amp; off with warm salt water. If worsening or not improving, be seen by the dentist.

i had a periodontal cleaning on my front teeth nd a regular cleaning on the rest.. my gums are extremely swollen and very tender is this normal?

It is common: Yes, your gums may also be sore or swollen after deep cleaning. Use warm salt water and NSAID OTC for pain control. Any swelling and discomfort should subside in a few days (aprox. 7days).

Quite Normal: Especially if you had a build up of calculus and inflamed gingiva. The hygienist was doing his/her job and sometimes a thorough cleaning will result in some soreness. Do your part at home with excellent oral hygiene and go for cleanings every 3-6 months as necessary. Your subsequent visits should be pain free.

i took every year dental cleaning for my teeth but why i noticed some of my gums lines on front teeth are a little bit swelling that it recedes?

Receding gums: Receding gums can occur from gum disease, trauma, infection, decay, teeth grinding.
Why they are swollen and receding can only be answered by a dentist doing a thorough clinical exam.
Ask your dentist, or make an appointment with a Periodontist for an examination.

i had a routine dental cleaning and ever since i have an irritated/sensitive gum over one tooth. i go every 3 months for a cleaning and i was told that i am doing an excellent job in cleaning my teeth, so why do i now have this problem?

: If the gum is sensitive, not the tooth, than the gum needs to be brushed, as well as the tooth .Use a soft brush and brush the gums first, than the teeth. Use a gum massager also, which can be obtained at any pharmacy.

: It could. Any manipulation of the mouth, fever, exposure to sun etc and cause a cold sore. Do not skip dental hygiene because of this.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Hygiene problem: "Gum hole" caused by poor oral hygiene, not dental treatment.  Tarter forms when plaque (mostly bacteria) not cleaned from teeth, and calcium from saliva precipitates out of saliva and accumulates in the plaque.  Both plaque and tarter cause gum recession.  Dentist's cleaning instruments do not reshape teeth.  The more tarter you have, the more recession you will have.

i got a dental cleaning nearly 3 weeks ago. with proper home care added,  my lower gums no longer bleed. when can i expect my top gums to stop as well?

See below: Speak to your dentist in reference to your concerns. Did the dentist recommend more frequent hygiene visits or scaling and root planing? Follow through with all recommendations and stringent home care.
