: It may be gum recession. Although you are young, periodontal issues can affect young adults if their oral hygiene is poor and regular visits to the dentist for routine cleanings are non-existent. If it has been more than six months since your last professional cleaning, it's time to make an appointment.

See a dentist: You really need to have a comprehensive exam by a dentist so all the information can be collected, radiographs (x-rays) taken and evaluated, then a diagnosis and treatment plan can be discussed.  Jaw pain can come from many different areas and different stimuli.  Receding gums can cause pain, but there are many other situations that can cause pain.

Not likely: The most usual cause is shifting that occurs over time.  Especially in lower front teeth.  It should not be a concern if  you can keep them clean.

Peridontal bone loss: That  can best be determined by a periodontist.  However, this is probably the case as you had a significant periodontal procedure (s;c) and lanap performed.  Lanap is performed when there is bacterial invasion of both the periodontal/gingival tissues and the bone.  The purpose the of lanap/ scaling/root planning is to remove these bacteria to allow easier access for cleaning and proper home care.

Allograft: The alternative is an allograft, connective tissue  from another source.  Two examples are alloderm and mucograft.  However, why not discuss with your doctor why she recommend an autograft, your own tissue.  She might know something about your condition that we here do not.

Partly: Braces can fix your bite but not the gum recession. See an endodontist to treat the gum recession.

Normal: At your age to get slight gum recession, that might be treated by scaling and root planing, but in extreme gum recession that involves some bone loss around the roots of your bottom front teeth, surgical intervention might be needed in the form of bone grafting and membrane to facilitate healing. : Inflammation of the gingiva is usually caused by bacteria. The bacteria can be from decay around the crowns or from hardened calculus stuck on the root surfaces. Depending on your overbite, the lower teeth may also be traumatizing the tissue. The only way to know for sure is to visit a local dentist.

Inflammation: If it has been a long time since you had your teeth cleaned, there may be tartar and calculus below your gumline.  This can cause the gums in the area to swell. Other possibilities are food stuck below the gumline or even an abscessed tooth that needs to be treated.  Whichever it is, your best bet is to schedule a visit to your dentist and have it properly diagnosed and treated.
