Generally, yes: Generally speaking yes; however, there are some kinds of infections where Amoxicillin would not be the first choice.  Have your dentist check things out for you.

: If your astute enough to know you have an infection in your tooth and no pain, than you must realize you need to see a dentist for treatment. The nerve in the tooth has died that's why no pain ,but the infection is still there and the tooth  needs a root         canal or an extraction. Don't try to treat the infection yourself and go to the dentist asap before the infection gets worse.

Possibly: Approximate healing time is usually up to 10 days, but it may depend upon the severity of the extraction and if infection was already present.  I would call the dentist/oral surgeon and get back in asap.

Could : Could you please be more specific? It this "white thing" hard or soft? Is it above the area where the tooth was extracted?

It could be a broken piece of tooth or bone, also it could be a draining infection. So hard to know for sure without an exam. Please go back to the dentist who extracted the tooth to have it evaluated.

had ibs for a year.tried diets not worked.i recently found out that have a infection in gum above tooth, could this be a cause of the ibs? thankyou.

Probably not: You most likely had a periapical pathology.. Either a nerve inside one of your teeth died, or an old root canal was failing. In either event these are local phenomena, and may tax your immune system slightly. I would think that they would be unrelated. Treat the tooth anyway, and you'll avoid a major problem.

Tooth trouble: Pain is subjective - and certainly some people feel it 'more' than others. Given that you had a tooth pulled out from your jaw bone, I would expect that to hurt alot. Hopefully this was 'curative' for the infection and I would assume your oral surgeon/dentist gave you pain meds to deal with this. You should have a follow up with them in the next couple days to make sure you're on track to healing.

my gum got injured during dental impression.the da purposely hurt me with a wrong size tray.could that damage my tooth nerve & cause me gum infection?

Wound infection: I find it hard to believe that a dental assistant would intentionally try to hurt a patient. Having said that I also doubt that using the wrong size tray could harm a tooth and although it's possible for any wound to become infected, in a healthy individual the likelihood of it becoming infected would be extremely unusual.

can you get an abscess/infection on the gum where the tooth was taken out?

Yes: If the the tooth that was extracted was severely decayed or if there was infection present before the extraction, the risk of a secondary infection after the tooth is removed is greater.  Have a follow up visit with your dentist to check things out.
