Goosebumps: Do the goosebumps itch? There is a condition called keratosis pilaris that often occurs over the ouside of the upper arms and occasionally on the upper outer thighs, but these usually do not itch. An over-the-counter lotion, amlactin, often helps this condition. If it itches, it might be due to a medication you have been taking.

It can.: If you are having excessive pain, your autonomic system can get affected.  It is possible vertigo and unusual skin rash/color is related to neck condition.  It is best to ask your primary care to review your symptoms all together.

Weird: It sounds like you may be having some strange side effect from the amitriptyline. With nothing else to go on, that sounds at least feasible. Because it is a medication that affects nerves, see if you can taper or stop the med (with your Family Doc's permission). A drug holiday could give you one piece of information to go on. If it's not that, then keep looking for other weirdness.

Talk to your dr.: Soy is food which can be found in soy nuts, soy sprouts, tofu etc that has been shown in studies to help relieve hot flashes. This may be due to genistein in the soy plants.  I would not start supplements or make significant changes to your diet without speaking with your health care provide

does menopause caused by a hysterectomy last forever (permanent symptoms) or does the body adjust as it would with natural menopause?

Adjusts: First of all if you just have a hysterectomy (uterus removed) you will not go through menopause early. That only happens if both ovaries are removed as well. If you do have your ovaries removed then the menopause will be dramatic, but it will resolve in time.

Regarding your abdomen you should see your Primary doctor. She/he will take your medical history, examine you and then order laboratory data, and possibly xrays.
