Weird: It sounds like you may be having some strange side effect from the amitriptyline. With nothing else to go on, that sounds at least feasible. Because it is a medication that affects nerves, see if you can taper or stop the med (with your Family Doc's permission). A drug holiday could give you one piece of information to go on. If it's not that, then keep looking for other weirdness.
