1 month out from tarsal tunnel, baxton nerve surgery.  i am starting to put full weight on foot. still have pins and needles, and some burning in foot top and bottom. when i stand on foot any length of time, it turns purple. normal at 1 month?

Yes, : Nerve surgery (at least in my opinion after 26 years of private practice) Is the least predictable/slowest recovery of most any procedure we do. Much of the recovery depends on how long standing the problem was prior to treatment. I tell my patients it will take 3-12 months to get a good idea of the amount of reliefe they will get. Typically pins, needles, burning and "zingers" grad improve w time

my foot fell asleep this morning at 4:00 a.m. and it is now 6:00 p.m. and still hasn't woken up. i have the pins and needles still in my foot. what can i do or what should i do?

: You need to see a doctor to have this evaluated. If your foot is changing color or if it is cold, go to the nearest emergency room as this could be a serious circulation problem. This could also be a neurologic problem-do you have diabetes? You may need to see a neurologist and you may need some lab work checked. Best of luck to you!

i can't put any pressure on my heel. this has been going on for a week. everytime i put pressure on it it feels like needles going through my foot.

Heel spur: If an arch support does not help, get a steroid injection.

i had a crush foot injury 6 months ago with no diagnosed tears or breaks but i still can't bend my toes and my foot often gets pins and needles. why?

Accepted Answer

The injury...: A crush injury will damage nerves, tendons, ligaments, etc. Even if bones are not broken - which is rare in a crush injury.  These will take quite a while to heal and may give you permanent residual effects.  See a physical therapist for more rehab work.

the top of my foot still swollen 2 weeks after ankle sprain.shooting needle pain when guetting up after elevating it.what could this be?

Enough time.: It sounds as though something else may be involved in addition to an ankle sprain. Two weeks is long enough to wait, especially if there is pain and swelling. You would be best served with a directed evaluation and possibly imaging studies.

i just had plantar fasciotomy surgery about 2 weeks ago and i still get a pins and needle feeling in my toes and bottom of foot is that normal?

Talk to surgeon: Hi, 2 weeks is still fresh post-op. I would call the surgeon's office ans either ask to talk to her/him or get an office visit. The best person to answer your question is the surgeon who performed the procedure and is familiar with the surgical pathology encountered.Get well soon

High ankle sprains: can cause significant damaged to small blood vessels and ligaments in and around your ankle. Appropriate casting might be appropriate. Check with your local gp/orthopod as you may benefit from continued relative rest and may need imaging. good luck.

45 min ago i  had heavy duty glass bowl fall on foot,  bleeding extremely bad. 2 gashes on vein on top chunk out of toe; still bleeding; how long before i worry. foot went from thumping pain 2 pins/needles and getting cold?

Go to ER: The foot going cold could be indicative of arterial damage.  The symptoms you describe certainly sound indicative of that.  Every second you wait could be resulting in irreversible tissue damage.

Just in one foot?: If the symptoms are just in one foot, and they affect the top and bottom of your foot, then radiculopathy may be the cause.  This is a condition where nerve roots in the back are compressed.  This normally affects one side.  Another possible cause is peroneal neuropathy, which is often caused by crossing the legs too much.

suffered from severe sciatica for 2 weeks, extreme leg and foot pain, foot pins and needles, my foot sole still feels like "sleeping" i developed a itchy rash with blisters along my foot where the most pain was, could it be contributed to xtreme pain?

Might be related: Skin pain can be from one of several possible causes. A doctor's exam is needed (primary care doctor or dermatologist). A person with shingles can have burning pain of the skin where the rash breaks out. Sometimes nerve irritation (anywhere along the nerve from the spine to the skin surface) can cause pain sensations in the lower back, thigh, or elsewhere. An in-person or video exam is helpful.
