i have a 7mm meningioma in my middle cranial fossa. i have constant ear ringing. do you normally treat in this location and this size or leave alone?

Treat: If it looks as is the meningioma is causing your ringing,  i would treat it.  If it is asymptomatic,  i would repeat the MRI annually, and treat only if it is growing.  Because of the way radiosurgery works, radiation dose to the body risers exponentially with size of the tumor,  so i would not wait for it to get big.

what is it like to have success with a tinnitus (ringing in the ears) cure?

Happiness: If you have had relief of your tinnitus, then I would assume that you would be happy.  But maybe, the question is more about HOW to get a cure for the perception of sound in your ear (tinnitus)?  There is no medicine or surgery at the present time to resolve tinnitus except masking and learning live with it.  Most important is to make sure you do not have any serious peripheral or central problem.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor. Wish you good health!

Accepted Answer

Probably not.: Tinnitus usually varies in intensity over time and might be improved by some otc supplements (e g arches), prescription meds (e g nortriptyline), and avoiding stress, alcohol, salt, caffeine, and loud noise. Sinister causes of tinnitus are rare, but unilateral symptoms are a little more likely to be something serious, so get checked out by an audiologist and/or ENT physician.

No cure: You live with it although some  antidepressant and anti-anxiety  medications can suppress it.

See a doc: If you have tinnitus and your eardrums are red it may very well be that there is an ear infection or possibly there was trauma to the ear.  In any event a  trip to the doc is warranted for evaluation and determination if you need antibiotics or other treatment.

See a Dr.: Headaches have many triggers, and can be caused by sinus, tension, allergies, stress, and also tmj/tmd.  I would get evaluated, with a thorough history and exam.  Keeping a pain/nutrition/activity diary may be wise to help you find out your triggers and also to discuss with your dr.

hi. i have non stop headache with constant ear ringing, teeth ache and neck pain for 6month. i have dobe ct nd mri but all is normal.

You may have : Other issues such as TMJ syndrome or trigeminal neuralgia. A physical exam could identify which of these things it might be. As long as everything else has been normal and you have been examined, those are the next two diagnoses i would look to. Each can be treated with different modalities and you made need a diagnostic block of your trigeminal nerve to see if thats contributing.

my jaw feels sore and my upper teeth teeth feels heavy, i was recently diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. but my greatest concern is the constant pain in my jaw and face and ear ringing plus balance issues. what should i do?

: Your symptoms are not consistent with trigeminal neuralgia alone. If you have not had a brain scan (CT scan or MRI) done recently, you may need one. Please follow with a neurologist.

10 days of right side head pains. not a constant headache. sinus pressure, come & go ear discomfort, occasional ear ringing, random pains on top & side of head, a few sharp eye pains & back of head was sore for a few days. big fear of aneurysm. idea?

Exam needed: 10 days of those symptoms warrant an investigation. I recommend consulting your physician or  a neurologist or an Otolaryngologist, as neuralgia,muscle contraction tension headaches as well as sinusitis and middle ear infections are possibilities. Appropriate testing will be done. Stress management therapy should be helpful if tension headaches and anxiety are diagnosed.
