Watch: If tooth was abscessed or had a cyst, it may take some time to completely heal.  If you still have the enlargement in 3 months, have a dental evaluation to determine if further treatment is required

i got two teeth pulled in july and there is a small bump where the dentist injected the novocaine into my gum and it's still a little numb. help me?

Accepted Answer

Takes time: The numbness might be due to very minor nerve damage or residual swelling in that region.  Regeneration of feeling in the mouth that might yet return but it is unknown.  If this is really causing you trouble you could speak with the dentist who gave you the novacaine, but outside of time there is not much we could do to return the feeling of sensation in that region.

Question 3

i have a broken tooth that got infected that i then pulled myself, seems like there is still a small piece left inside the gum. will this be an issue?

Possibly: You removed the broken piece, not the root. The infection has probably not been resolved, and the decay on that remaining piece will surely keep the area inflamed. You should really see a dentist to have the retained root properly extracted.

why after getting 2 teeth pulled out like an hour and half ago and my gums are still bleeding?

Post op bleeding: Whether or not it’s normal depends mostly on the amount of bleeding. Some slight oozing is normally. If you place gauze in the area & it becomes saturated within a couple of minutes, it's probably more than normal. Keep your head elevated, limit physical activity & place a moistened wet teabag with gentle pressure over the site for 30-40 minutes. If the bleeding continues, call your dentist.

all teeth pulled on top. still have bottom teeth. when soaking dentures, teeth dig into gums. best way to prevent?

Relax your jaw: if that doesn't work make a mouth guard for your lower teeth. And cover your lower teeth while the denture soaks.

1 mth ago i had 2 teeth pulled. is it normal for me to still be pulling pieces of tooth out my gums? it was even bleeding bad last night?

Unusual: Sometimes pieces of bone may work itself out and may be mistaken for tooth fragments.  See your dentist that removed the tooth and have the extraction sites looked at to make sure everything is fine.

my wisdom teeth does this weird thing where they peek through my gums, but then go back into my gums. what does that mean? can i still get them pulled

Gum tissue growth: Your gum tissue is thinly covering your wisdom teeth. Every now and then it thins out to the point of exposing the tooth. Then, it grows back over. you can certainly have them extracted. In fact, it is probably the prudent thing to do. It is possible to develop a gum infection in the area if the situation continues.

1wk after 16 teeth pulled. still have extreme pain around 1 of remaining teeth, in lower jaw. looks like receeding gum, not like that before surgery.

Extractions: Your symptoms are normal. It may take a week to ten days for the area to really start feeling better. Regarding  the bleeding, gentle pressure biting down with sterile gauze for 15 min should stop the bleeding, repeat every 15 minutes as needed. Any further concerns should be directed to your provider.

i had plaque removed from my teeth 7 days ago.some small areas on my gums still hurt so much i can't eat or brush teeth on that side.what to do?thanks

Sensitivity: Sounds like you had Tarter removed, accumulations of plaque (bacteria) that become calcified.  To do so requires a professional cleaning, which is a surgical procedure.  The greater the damage from plaque/tarter, the more extensive the surgical procedure.  Failure to keep area clean may result in even more tissue damage.  Take pain killer 1/2 hour before you brush.  Call your Dentist for help.
