Many factors: Sometimes the difference between the stiffness of the femoral stem and the stiffness of the surrounding bone can create a stress reaction at the tip of the implant which would be felt in the thigh.  That being said, any pain following joint replacement should be evaluated by your surgeon.

Many possibilities: There are a number of reasons why someone can have anterior thigh pain after total hip replacement. Some of these include soft tissue pain from the procedure, the implant within the femur and neurologic pain. You should be evaluated by your orthopedic surgeon if you continue to have anterior side pain.

Check with doc: While it is not unusual to have mild discomfort after hip replacement, major pain needs to be brought up with your surgeon as it may indicate loosening or infection of the implant.  Again, the best place to start is a call to your doctor's office for an appointment.

how soon after anterior hip replacement can i begin my testosterone injections into my thigh? is there any risk, if so, what?

Blood clots: Whenever i see a young man on testosterone, my first question is why? Hopefully you have been diagnosed by an endocrinologist as truly needing to be on the medication. Testosterone injections are not the preferred way to do replacement since hormone levels will be very high initially. This can cause more side effects like increased blood counts, potential for blood clots. Topical gels are preferred.

had hip replacement surgery over 3 yrs ago and have pain down outise of thigh and "frayed piriformis and gluteus medias" - will it ever get better?

See PT: your walking pattern has changed pre or post hip,surgery, and this most likely caused the problem. It will Improve with correction of the underlying problem. Piriformis exercises can be done to assist. 
Ask your doc to eval the hip and low back by X-rays and examination to confirm the diagnosis, and get referral to physical therapy to help resolve it.

Thigh burning: The most likely cause is a peripheral nerve impingement at the level of the groin ligament. In my experience,This (meralgia parasthetica) condition is more common in obese individuals or in people who sit a lot(such as truck drivers). However since you had hip surgery less than a year ago, there is a possibility that some nerve injury occurred. A neurologist can evaluate and advise you.

Yes, it is OK: It is OK to carry that much weight at this time.  Unfortunately, total return to normal after hip replacement can take, in some people, up to a year.

Post hip operation: You shold not be having severe muscle spasms .   Something is not right.  Best to see your surgeon for a re check to see what is wrong.

See your surgeon: Are you asking what you should do for your muscle spasms or are you asking if your greater trochanter ostetomy or fracture is the culprit? If your spasms in your thigh are frequent and/ or worsening or associated w/ weight bearing than see your treating orthopedic surgeon for treatment. Best of luck!
