i got a wisdom tooth out two days ago. now, there's a weird looking glob of greenish-gray stuff in the extraction site. is this normal, or dry socket?

Accepted Answer

Normal: A dry socket would be extremely painful.  If you have post-op concerns call the Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon who did the extraction for a follow-up visit.

3 days after failed root canal extraction (tooth #30), discomfort persists, socket is not dry. why is it filled with gray/green salty tasting matter?

Post op healing: The area is still healing so it will be sore for several days.  Make sure you are keeping the area clean by rinsing your mouth after eating and following the post op instructions that your were given.  
The dentist that extracted your tooth can give you the best answer.

had an extraction 4 days ago..still have a little pain and ear pain..site is a yellowish gray color..is this normal?

Infection?: Pain is usually a typical sequela that follows a tooth extraction, and it should slowly decrease as days pass. If pain meds are needed, the dentist or your primary care physician should provide these. If pain increases along with gum swelling and possible fevers/chills, you may have an infection and should consult your dentist or primary care physician.

Possible trauma: The gum tissue in the area of the extraction may have been traumatized from the procedure, resulting in a loss of blood flow. How long ago was your extraction? Are you in pain? It will most probably heal just fine, but it may be best to have your dentist take a look just to be sure.

1st and 2nd molar removed yesterday. started rinsing today ,tonight doesn't look like blood clot is in one of extraction sites. looks whitish grey.

Dry socket: You could have alveolar osteitis...aka dry socket. If you are not in pain then I wouldn't worry too much about the looks yet. If you start getting an intense pain, follow up with your doctor for routine follow up and if you have dry socket they will pack the extraction site with dry socket paste.... Follow up with your doctor if you are concerned.

i had a tooth extraction 21 days ago. till yesterday, thesocket was dark red. today when i woke up, i saw that a grey film has started to cover the red socket. is it normal healing?

See Dentist: Most dentists schedule a follow-up post surgical. 2 weeks is a common.

A few ideas: Root canal treatment usually for decay that is close or into nerve of tooth. Extraction for non-restorable tooth, or when cost of restoration is prohibitive.

6ms ago diagnosed with gum disease, sometimes have bleeding gums but not swollen/inflamed. 5 days ago extraction and clean discolouration no hard plaque. already grayish discolouration forming around the gumline. gum disease or something internal?

See your Dentist: See the dentist or oral surgeon who extracted the tooth for a thorough evaluation.

Without seeing the problem, it is hard to determine if you are have normal or unusual symptoms.
Depending on the severity of the problem, post-operative sensitivity or pain are normal events.  Bruising to the adjacent area may also occur.
