Strep throat: Classically strep throat does not cause a cough. It's possible you have/ had a viral upper respiratory infection. These usually resolve within 1- 2 weeks.

No: Since strep throat does not cause cough then cough drops won't help.  Btw looking at the below tags, group b strep does not cause strep throat, group a strep does.

Post strep: Yes it's normal to have post strep cough for days to weeks as long as no fever and no thraot burning

Not specifically: While many with strep will have more drainage that might trigger cough, it is not a common feature of strep throat.If you are having pain associated with breathing it would be worth a call to your doc's office to discuss your change in symptoms. There may be additional things your doc would like to check in your case.

i've been on amoxicillin 875mg for 5 days for strep throat. my throat feels better, but my cough has not gotten better at all. should i be concerned?

Could be your sinus: chronic sinuses infection can cause such, and few days of antibiotics won't clear it, please see your doctor again, might prescribe you more, a different antibiotic, or whatever deems necessary up to her/his judgement

i've been ill on and off now for 2 months with covid strep throat and a chesty cough and just not feeling myself, i'm usually on the go all the time this is really affecting my mental health i just want to feel 'normal again' i don't know take more?

NO: Sniffle and cough are not typical symptoms of strep throat, a sore throat is more common.

Strep throat: If after taking Amoxicillin for 3 days and your throat is still sore, you have more going on than just strep.  If you develop cold like symptoms, you have a viral upper respiratory infection. Good chance you were colonized with Strep and it was not the cause of the sore throat from the start.  Strep throats do not lead to cough and nasal congestion.

will cough worsen after getting a rocephin (ceftriaxone) shot for strep throat? when should i see improvement in my symptoms?

See answer: Cough usually is not a symptom of strep throat. And if it is, it shd not get worse with use of Rocephin (ceftriaxone). However antibiotics may take time to start working. Symptoms may get worse before antibiotics start working. Even tho strep is being suspected it may still be a viral infection. Best wld be to wait a while ( 2-3 days) and if still getting worse have urself re evaluated.
