No: Significant coughing to cause "cough up blood" is not a part of strep throat.

Coughing : A cough resulting in bleeding may be frontman an airway, GI, or upper airway source. The source of the bleeding is usually not from infection of the tonsils. Strep pneumonia should be ruled out. Please see your physician.

Yes: Infected tonsils often bleed easily. If the amount of blood is large or continues, see your doctor so he/she can look at your tonsils. Also check to see if the blood is coming from your nose. All the best.
