Exposed to monitor?: to u mean minimal? Depending on how deep CO2 laser was, you can have sun sensitivity up to 6months and not uncommon. See doctor who performed laser to discuss and treat (I like LED therapy and topicals)

Yes helpful: Series of deep fractional laser treatments may help acne scars, but unlikely to remove all. Depending on shape and depth of scars influences result. Example, 'ice pick' type scars hard to remove, 'crater-like' poc marks do better to smooth scar margins from nearby skin. Also may need mechanical dermabrasion which improves surface smoothness.

Very low risk: Anytime a facial skin resurfacing procedure is done, there is potential for prolonged redness from normal healing. Sun (UV) exposure should be limited to minimize this problem and prevent sunburn. Exposure to fluorescent indoor lighting presents an extremely low risk although being in the habit of applying sunscreen full-time is not a bad idea.

laser ; acne: This can be a very effective treatment if in the right hands and you can do this multiple times. Watch out for depigmentation and ask about this with your doctor.

% of area treated: Co2 laser is treatment of the entire surface of the skin of an area. While it yields the most dramatic improvement it also has the longest recovery and risk for complications such as scarring, infection and pigmentation changes. Fractionated co2 laser delivers laser light in columns, and thus only treats a percentage of the skin. Results are usually good, with much less recovery and risk.

Absolutely-BothToxic: Co2 laser is simply a way of applying heat to damage/kill cells, for whatever "cosmetic" goal, but definitely a toxin in & off itself. Smoke of burning substances, cigarettes studied longest & most widely, contains huge numbers of toxins being inhaled into far more fragile tissues, the cells lining the bronchi & alveoli. Tobacco smoke promotes bronchitis, emphysema, atherosclerosis & cancers.

Call doctor: Usually when you have any type of laser procedure done, you really have to wait before having the laser done, and again wait before you can restart your medication. So the best thing to do is to contact your doctor, who put you on accutane, and asked for his or her opinion and recommendation on when to restart it. You need to let your doctor know that you're doing fractal laser therapy.

in regard to lichen sclerosus on the labia, how long have fractional co2 lasers, and profractional laser been used to treat lichen sclerosus on the labia?

: I'm unfamiliar with this treatment which has been around for a few years, but the gold standard for treatment of lichen sclerosus is still high potency corticosteroid creams or ointments. The laser treatment does reduce symptoms of severe itching and scarring. I would leave the decision of what's the best treatment for each individual case to the dermatologist.
