Exposed to monitor?: to u mean minimal? Depending on how deep CO2 laser was, you can have sun sensitivity up to 6months and not uncommon. See doctor who performed laser to discuss and treat (I like LED therapy and topicals)

No: Brief sun bathing with adequate skin protection is probably ok, but make sure you do not get uncomfortably warm. Tanning is not recommeded.

A rash appears on my baby's scalp every time we go out. Could it be from the sun?

Maybe: To see if sunshine is causing a rash on the scalp, just compare the appearance of the scalp after outings where the baby wears a hat, with the appearance after outings where the baby doesn't wear a hat. Babies have sensitive skin which can turn red and sunburn after just a short while in strong sunlight.

Can children have their refractive errors corrected with laser surgery?

Generally No: Refractive laser surgery is usually reserved for adults whose eyes are stable where the glasses power is expected to change very little. Some trials have been proposed for pediatric lasik but generally have not been successful. In extreme cases of amblyopia contact lenses are often used.

How do I best use sunblock to prevent sunburns?

Use before exposure: Sunblock works best if applied before exposure. The protection factor you need depends on your skin type. I recommend "sports" or waterproof sunscreens but these should still be reapplied after swimming, toweling off, etc. Bear in mind that the uv exposure is greatest between 10A.M. And 2 P.M. Or at high altitudes.

Topical therapy: Hydroquinones and retinoids are most useful. Both can be prescribed, individually or in combination, by your dermatologist.
