PIH-it happens....: Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a normal part of healing in anyone with pigment in their skin. Most experienced laser docs will do test spots of different strength co2 or er-yag behind your ear and watch them for a month to see how you respond/heal. You should try to minimize sun exposure for at least a month before ; after laser treatment. Sun blocks and lightening gels are beneficial too.
