Maybe but not on lis: It is not on the list the causes of tinnitus, or on the side effect list of nicotine lozenges. But the tinnitus is very common and can be present for many reasons but often we don't find a specific reason. You need to have a full tinnitus evaluation and possibly an MRI of the brain

i woke up with tinnitus a few months ago & then i saw my doctor a couple of weeks later & found out my b12 was too high, can high b12 levels cause ringing in the ears. people who have low b12 levels can also can have that as one of their symptoms?

: Unless you are taking mega doses of B12, and elevated level of B12 is an indication of inflammation. It would be prudent to consult an ENT doctor as it is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you.

i have had unilateral pulsatile tinnitus for 3 years now in my right ear. i have done numerous tests and seen numerous specialists but to no avail. no signs of elevated csf level & no spinal tap done. does bruxism cause pt? i use a self dx mouthguard?

Look at your TMJ: When does your tinnitus occur.  A particular time of day or night?  When you wake up?  Does it get worse as the day wears on?  Lots of questions.   With the. lose proximity,  I might advise seeing an oral surgeon and see if your TMJ is the cause of your problem.  They're close to each other.

Hearing loss: Although the question should more appropriately be what causes tinnitus, the best answer to give you is that in some patients at the beginning of their awareness of the sound in the ear, they become depressed, anxious and unhappy.  Tinnitus does not cause anything else.  But the presence of tinnitus, particularly, unilateral tinnitus rarely can be associated with an acoustic tumor.

last night i ate some foods which contain very high levels of salicylates. since then my tinnitus is much worse. i have since read that salicylates can worsen tinnitus. my question is: will this worsening only be temporary or could it be permanent?

: I do not think the content of salicylic acid in your dinner foods, whatever they are, will be high enough to cause tinnitus which is a symptom of salicylate overdose. But if it is true, the symptom should be resolving when salicylatic acid level drops.

can taking concerta  cause someone to develop tinnitus?  didn't take concerta today, but suddenly developed  high pitched squeal in ears.

Stimulant tinnitus?: For better or worse, tens of millions of people have been on stimulant therapy.  We've been using stimulants since the 50s for weight loss and then subsequent decades for ADHD.  It is highly unlikely that Concerta is the culprit.  Antibiotics though have well known neurotoxic effects including hearing loss and tinnitus.

Tinnitus: The most common cause of persistent tinnitus is hearing lost: other causes are TMJ disorder or neck problem. Please see an ENT doctor for examination and hearing testing

i watch tv on my laptop.the vol isn't high, i  use in ear headphones (one ear only)  and now i have tinnitus in that ear. can earphones cause this?

Yes: Earbuds have been linked to hearing loss. Over the ear headphones are better. Try to limit your use of ear buds only to when it is absolutely necessary. If your symptoms don't go away, see your doctor. Hope this helps!
