in the middle of my sole of my right foot, just below where the ball of my foot be, there is a tingle every once in awhile.  always the same spot. not all the time.  no pain, or burning.  if i scratch it, it itches more. what could it be?

A good podiatrist: should be able to assess and likely diagnose this. But in the meantime - wondering if more pressure is being placed on that area of the foot? It is recommended that regularly (daily) alternate wearing your different pairs of shoes.

Neuropathy?: Your dad may have a condition caused neuropathy, which described as a burning pain, often in the feet and hands. Diabetes is often a cause of this. A doctor should be able to help him figure out what is causing his pain and get him better!

hello all,
i have noticed small small red dots on my foot extending upto 1/3rd of my foot.  they don't have any itching or burning or pain. plz help?

Accepted Answer

Many things: If you have a cat or dog they could be flea bites, they could be bed bug bites, or just the beginnings of a fungal infection (athletse foot).
You can try treatng them with an OTC antifungal cream and see if they go away.  
If they spread or get worse please see a physician for a better diagnosis.

See a doctor: If ongoing and not responsive to otc medication then it is time to see a podiatrist for evaluation.

Varies : Multiple potential  causes.  Frostbite would really be a consideration only if you had sustained severe cold to that extremity.  Temperature differences can be caused by an abnormality causing a cool foot, or by causing a warm foot.  Cool feet are often related to vascular issues.  Warm feet may be vascular, infectious, or inflammatory such as gout.  A good exam would give idea about likely cause.

Think fungus: A dermatophyte (skin;loving fungus) can cause both athletes feet and nail fungus- which can present as you indicated.  See your doctor for a proper diagnosis to rule out other medical and/or skin conditions. Good luck!

: The discoloration and swelling, indicate one might have sprained it. The PCP should check it out and do some imaging if indicated, for appropriate treatment.  But, the Foot doctor, Podiatrist should also be seen for evaluation if there is more to it.

Try : Try generic lterbinafine or Clotrimazole  cream. They re both excellent, safe, cheap and do not require a prescription.

: There are all sorts of "tiny red goosebumps." Time to be physically examined. A good place to start the solving of the mystery is to see a Physician rather than a computer screen. Either your GP or a Dermatologist. Take lots of pictures on your phone for the doctor.  take some close up, some with a ruler next to the "red goosebumps," some at arms length.
