Severe coughing can cause a cracked rib although it is more often in older people. When you sneeze the rib can be cracked again. I do not think those 2 incidents with your thorax have anything to do with the liver or GI tract which may explain your stool's characteristics. You continue to observe your stool appearance and bowel habit for now. See a GI doctor if you notice a persistent abnormality.
