Pain medications, diuretics, muscle relaxants, and anesthesia can cause constipation in some people. Opioids, in particular, can reduce bowel movements. Are you taking pain meds following your surgery? They might be the culprit.

Some peopl can have this happen after surgery/anesthesia and pain meds. Eat diet with some roughage, take a OTC stool softner till you become regular. Good luck.
