I was diagnosed with a vaginal yeast infection and prescribed one dose of oral fluconazole. i am in a monogamous relationship and dont use condoms. do i need to abstain from sex or use condoms at all? for how long?

It's up to you: Candida (yeast) infections are not usually transmitted back and forth between sex partners; it can happen, but infrequently. It's usually best to avoid sex for a week or so for comfort and to avoid confusion about symptoms: if you have sex and feel a bit more irritated afterward, it may be hard to know whether the medication has been effective. OTOH, no harm will come from continuing sex.
