A 22-year-old female asked:
I was prescribed 2 doses of 150mg fluconazole to treat a vaginal yeast infection (my second yeast infection this year). however, its only a mild infection, so is 1 pill effective enough or should i take both? if so, should i take every other day?

Yeast treatment: A single dose usually is effective and all that's needed. On the other hand, s econd dose wouln't hurt anything. It's usually best to take prescription drugs as directed by the doctor who prescribed it. So check with your docto ror clinic if you remain n doubt.

Diflucan: "although single-dose fluconazole is highly effective in complicated Candida vaginal infections, the clinical cure rate is better when a second sequential dose is used." REF: https://www.aafp.org/afp/2002/0215/p694.html * Can discuss with your doctor. Single dose is usually used for uncomplicated infection.
