A member asked:

Had sex and immediately afterwards got a headache where head meets neck. a pulsing thrombin headache mainly right side. took advil (ibuprofen) which helped. bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is tempting to: think that this is an "atypical migraine" triggered after an intimate sexual encounter, but it's atypical indeed. Plus, you're already on preventive therapy for migraine. The fact that Advil (ibuprofen) helped is reassuring but doesn't not alleviate my concerns completely. Please see a doctor about this. I have other concerns but it's best that you hear them from your personal physician. Dr. Anne.
