Probably coincidence: Most likely it's just a coincidence that both your herpes infections have had outbreaks at the same time. However, oral herpes outbreaks often are triggered by other viral infections (hence the names cold sore, fever blister). Genital HSV2 outbreaks usually have no obvious trigger, but it could happen that something has triggered both simultaneously.
