Gonorrhea: Yes, gonorrhea can persist for several months, especially in women, more rarely in men. You both should have been treated, usually with a shot of ceftriaxone plus treatment by mouth with either azithromycin (single dose) or doxycycline (for a week). No sex until both of you have completed treatment. Also test for other common STDs like chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV. Good luck to all 3 of you!
