I took an at home strip test for uti. positive for leukocytes, negative for nitrite. some burning with pee, vulva irritated. no fever/other symptoms?

Sounds like: bladder infection. Proper treatment would require most likely antibiotics. If left untreated, it could cause scarrin gof bladder or urethra, or spread to kidney. Consult with a physician.
