A member asked:

I recently switched from trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) to trisprintec. could that be the reason why my menstrual cycle was super light this month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Oral contraceptive "periods" are simply hormone withdrawal bleeding and not "real"(natural) periods. Therefore the manufacturers use the "bleeding" to tell you when to start the new pack of pills and it can be light, spotting or almost non existent with low dose pills.
