Many choices: If this is your first try at mood maintenance meds, you have many good medicines for a next try: lexapro, celexa, cymbalta (duloxetine). Be sure to give each medicine a decent try - at leat a month. If you have an intolerance, hang in there and give the medicine a full month to "percolate" in your system. Be careful, though, this whole group has a possibility of sexual side effects (decreased libido or climax).

What was your dose?: How long were you on it? Patience is required for SSRI medications. We start you at a low dose and then increase the dose. Once you are at the right dose, it may still take another 2 to 6 weeks to get a full response. I am wondering if you are wanting to quit taking zoloft without having an adequate trial.
