Hmmmmm . . . . : I am not sure what you mean by "depression." this needs to be understood carefully by your physician, to know what to do. In some people ssri's like zoloft (sertraline) can produce a kind of numb feeling, like disconnected from themselves & others. Some might experience this as "depression, " but it may be something different. Is it preferable to your anxiety attacks? Only you and your doctor can say.

Yes that is expected: As anxiety starts to regulate and the patient feels better, a good percentage of patients ( more than 50%) experience some depressive symptoms in the form of decreased interest, energy and motivation and decreased ability to enjoy. We have been observing that in our anxiety center. It is not clear why. Treatment and adjustment of meds correct that and the person regain normal mood.

Zoloft (sertraline): It is important to review your zoloft (sertraline) dose with your doctor, since I am not sure if it was prescribed for depression which means dose might need be optimized.

PANIC/DEPRESSION: The most complete evaluation for medication is with a Psychiatrist. First have a physical exam by a Dr. to rule out a physical problem. Please consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy to help you with ZOOM.com sessions. Research indicates with psychotherapy you can change & find better coping mechanisms. There is extra anxiety due to covid 19- stay safe, cautious & hold on to hope.
