Depression, weight: This is a common battle that doctors and patients who are treating depression have. Depression all by itself can cause weight gain. Add to this the fact that several antidepressants are linked to weight gain and you have an uphill battle. The honest answer is that zoloft (sertraline) may add to your weight problem. So you may have to decide which is more important to you, your weight or your emotional health.
