See gb= no cholecys: It is hard to know why the study ended... Without looking at the study. If the clinical question was is there acute cholecystitis( inflammation of gallbladder), and the gallbladder was seen before an hr..Yes they might quit and it would be considered normal. However, often the dr also asks the lab to calculate a gallbladder ejection fraction....This probably would not be finished in one hr

It is possible....: Usually physicians are performing a hida scan to determine if there is a cystic duct or common bile duct obstruction. Once tracer is visualized within the gallbladder lumen and in the bowel, obstruction has been ruled out. So yes, it is possible that the results are normal.

Time not factor: A complete HIDA scan does not last less than an hour. Usually two parts. First part lasts 30 minutes after IV injection of radiopharmaceutical. Then either Iv CCK9 hormone) or fatty meal administered to cause gb to contract. This part is for one hour.
