A tough question...: Cck (cholecystokinin) is a hormone that makes the gall bladder contract - so you have to wonder if the process of the gall bladder emptying has been giving you symptoms. That said - and even with a low gb ejection fraction - it is still possible that it may not be your gall bladder that's giving you symptoms. You may have it removed and still have symptoms. Talk to your surgeon about this. Lgromko.

Probably: Gallbladder with tc99m hida demonstrates extraction from blood stream of radiopharmaeujtical, then excretion into bowel with some storage in gb. Cck, cholecystokinin, stimulates gb to contract. Normal ejection fraction is usually above 35%.Getting symptoms from injection of cck and low ef of 30% suggests gall bladder needs to be removed. Us of gb can be normal without stones when gb has dyskinesia.

Depends: If your symptoms suggested gallbladder disease to begin (right upper quadrant pain worse when eating, family history of gallstones, etc), then a cholecystectomy would be indicated. Consult with a general surgeon about risks and benefits of the operation. Good luck!
