My hida scan results show 30% functioning and i was told it was not within the normal range yesterday after the scan. my doc. np says this is normal?

Borderline result?: Surgeons may consider cholecystectomy appropriate to your symptom presentation and database (lab results, other x-rays, exam). Certainly if your liver tests are abnormal further liver/biliary testing will likely be recommended. See your doctor who can direct you to the next appropriate test.

Biliary dyskinesia: This is commonly referred to as a low functioning gallbladder, and most CCK-HIDA scans have a normal range above 35%. If the CCK reproduced the pain you're having, there is an increased chance gallbladder removal will relieve your pain. Best to get a consultation with a general surgeon to find out more. Doesn't mean you'll have surgery for sure. Hope this helps!
