Variable: Vitreous separation and vitreous hemorrhage occur with retinal tears-causing vitreous floaters, and floaters in your vision. This can also result in hazy vision. The laser procedure helps to prevent the tear from progressing to a retinal detachment; however it does not resolve the vitreous floaters. The vitreous floaters can takes weeks to months to improve. Patients ignore them over time.

It depends: The duration of floaters associated with a retinal tear can vary greatly from patient to patient. While a large proportion of the floaters will likely become less apparent in time, there will always be a few left long term. If the floaters are significantly affecting a patient's vision and their ability to perform their daily activities, surgery can be considered to remove them.
