A member asked:

The retinal surgeon recommended laser only for a small flap tear. but the "fellow" who actually did the laser also lasered a "thin spot". bad move?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: The thin spots are at risk of tear and lasering the site may prevent additional tear.
