My 9am cortisol was 270. A short synacthen test stimulated them it to 680 so I think it ruled out Addinsons? Would it rule out secondary adrenal insufficiency too? Also have low progesterone, low normal t4, tsh? What other tests could be done? Thanks?
Dr tested me for Cushing's syndrome due to my appearance & symptoms, but my blood tests showed LOW cortisol. Can Addison's disease present the same as Cushing's?
Might have figured out my problem. Low ACTH <5 pg/ml but normal cortisol levels 15.6 pg/ml at 1030 am. Doctor thinks addisons but how when cortisol is normal? Cant get answer from doc at the moment! Every other test was normal. Thank you?
My 9am cortisol was 8.6. A short synacthen test stimulated it to 24.5 so I think it ruled out Addinsons? What about secondary adrenal insufficiency? How low is cortisol in that? My FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone are normal, TSH was 0.9, SHBG 27?
Besides Addisons disease and adrenal insufficiency what can cause your cortisol to be in the low/normal range all day, and below normal before bed?
